👥 Who We Are
Surviving Freedom is a nonprofit organization committed to disrupting the cycle of incarceration by supporting both youth impacted by parental incarceration and parents reentering society after prison.
We work with high school students navigating the emotional and practical challenges of having an incarcerated parent. Through mentorship, college and career readiness programs, life skills training, and safe spaces for expression, we empower young people to rise above generational barriers and pursue brighter futures.
At the same time, we provide reentry services for parents returning to children they were separated from due to incarceration. Our programs help these parents create a reunification plan, rebuild trust, and maintain healthy, lasting relationships with their children. We believe that a successful return home includes more than release—it means rebuilding family bonds with dignity and purpose.
Surviving Freedom is more than a support system—it’s a community of healing, growth, and second chances.
